Insects; The new food for a sustainable world
Disgust are unearned*, that make the insects are edible*,
and the world would be more sustainable than
it is now. Insects
have long been food in all but a handful* of places around the world, but now
they are more present to our cities.
Worldwide*, there are approximately 40 tons of insects for
person, so is impossible that they end. Although is a taboo eat insects in occidental culture
we can intend eat it. If we eat the bee vomit, why
we can not eat the bees?.
Edible* insects emit fewer*
gases, contain high-quality protein, vitamins, and have a high food conversion
rate, needing a quarter of the food intake of sheep, and half of pigs and
chickens, to produce the same amount of protein. They emit less greenhouse
gases and ammonia than cows and can be grown on organic waste. And the price of meat is increasing.
In my opinion, is a good challenge and difficult goal,
but, I think that is possible, and I can intend.
Unearned: immerescut.
Fewer: menys.
Worldwide: mundialment.
Edible: comestible.
Handful: punyat (d’alguna cosa).
