Boys scouts in Alt Empordà

To begin with will comment a source to boys scouts, the groups scouts for a boys were created to Robert Vaden Powel, an officier retired tired of war and stupid people. Two years later his wife Lady Olave created groups scouts for a girls, but the motto it’s a same: “LEAVE THE WORLD SAME OR BETTER HAVE WE GOT”.  

In Alt Empordà get 3 scouts groups (agrupament de minyos i escoltes)   , the older group is AEIG Sant Pere in figueres with one hundred years, the name derived from the basilica of Sant Pere. Second group is Xipres del Vent with 36 years in Figueres and third group is Xots in Castello d’Empuries with 1 year.

Every scouts groups put on the neek a handkerchief (a foulard), with different colours to be distinguished and represent the motive to have tried this colours, for example, Xots have got a  foulard green and brown, green to by hope of being a big group scout and brown for all activities related to by nature.

Every Saturday we to get together, we start at 4:00’ and finish at 6:00’. At this time we make activities, but also they go to the excursions and go to the camps every month. The most important values are“companion, volunteer and escort”
